We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Sales Representative to join our Power Generation team. This role is responsible for promoting and selling generator maintenance services, generator sales, and rental solutions to commercial and industrial clients.
The ideal candidate will have experience in technical sales, strong relationship-building skills, and a solid understanding of power generation equipment and services. This is a team-driven, on-site role — Gentech does not offer work from home options.

Sales and Business Development:
Proven sales experience, preferably in power generation, industrial equipment, or related technical fields.
Identify and develop new business opportunities in target markets.
Work with technical staff to provide clients with job assessments, application solutions, equipment sizing and professional estimates.
Conduct market research to understand customer needs and industry trends.
Follow up with clients on sales, repairs and recommendations, clarifying questions and providing ongoing support.
Technical Expertise:
Provide guidance to clients regarding product features, specifications, and applications.
Collaborate with the engineering and product development teams to address technical questions and resolve issues.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
Manage the sales pipeline from lead generation to closing deals.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records and prepare regular reports of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales progress in CRM systems.
Training and Development:
Stay current with industry advancements and emerging technologies through ongoing training and professional development.
Keep up to date with changes regarding industry standards and regulations (e.g. CSA 282-15, NFPA-25) and educate customers on code requirements.

Knowledge of power generation / diesel engines / generators and maintenance services is preferred.

On-Site Maintenance and Repair:
Respond to emergency calls which may occur after regular business hours.
Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on diesel power generation systems as per CSA 282-15 and NFPA 2017.
Exceptional performance of full engine overhauls, extensive major repairs and removal and replacement of defective parts on diesel and industrial power generation systems.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using various tools, diagnostic software and equipment.
Perform maintenance and repair tasks for Gentech’s extensive rental fleet, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and drawings.
Inspection and Troubleshooting:
Conduct thorough inspections of machinery to identify wear, damage, and potential issues before they result in equipment failure.
Use advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to troubleshoot complex problems and determine the root cause.
Leadership:
Provide direct supervision, motivation, and leadership to Field Service staff and keep junior field staff productive.
Provide continuity between the Field Service staff, Manager and Administration within the Field Service division as well as provide input to employee reviews on a technical level.
Customer Service:
Communicate clearly with clients explaining technical issues, recommendations and address client concerns ensuring satisfaction with services provided.
Documentation and Reporting:
Complete detailed service reports and documentation for each job.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols, best practice and industry regulations to ensure an efficient, safe working environment for yourself and others.
Training and Development:
Stay current with industry advancements and emerging technologies through ongoing training and professional development.
Share knowledge and best practices with junior technicians & team members.

Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician or Journeyperson/Master electrician with mechanical experience. (Required)
Exceptional mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with engines, generators, and control systems. (Required)
Proficient with using engine, generator, control system diagnostic software. (Required)
Experience with various engine manufacturers. (Required)
Proficient in power generation load testing or diesel performance testing. (Required)
